Rhona Marsland
Principal Highways Engineer, ORRRhona is the Principal Highways Engineer at the Office of Rail and Road. She is a Chartered Civil Engineer and UK Registered Ground Engineering with over 15 years’ experience in the transportation industry in the UK, Ireland and Canada. She currently leads the Engineering Team, providing critical insight into National Highways’ asset management performance – holding National Highways to account for its delivery, focusing on enhancements, renewals, maintenance performance.
Rhona has engineering management capability and experience in the design and asset management of rail systems, including electrification, civil engineering design and remediation. Previous roles include the East West Rail Phase 2, the CA$6.3 billion major public transit project - Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM) in Canada. She is an Institution of Civil Engineers Reviewer, Chair of the ICE CPD Panel and a Non-Executive Director at Sustrans.

Harnessing Asset Management Data Dashboards to Enhance Transparency
- A demonstration of ORR’s approach to transparent communication of National Highways Asset Management performance as part of our Annual Assessment of National Highways.
- We will discuss the changes to our approach, and what the benefits of those changes are.
- We will also demonstrate the use of our publicly available data dashboards, which include National Highways Enhancement scheme delivery performance, its maintenance defect rectification performance, and renewals delivery performance.
