Andrew Strongman

New Product Development Manager, Low Carbon Materials

Andrew joined Low Carbon Materials in March 2023, following management of the general industrial coatings R&D department at AkzoNobel. Over the last year, Drew has led the company’s technical interaction with collaborators and customers, particularly regarding projects and technical trials.

He is also the project lead in the development of ACLA®, a carbon-negative aggregate developed by LCM for use in decarbonising asphalt, which is now being tested on the strategic road network in collaboration with National Highways, Skanska, Tarmac and Connecting Places Catapult Additionally, Drew likes to keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in the construction industry, particularly within the sustainability space; attending events like UK Construction Week and Net Zero North East and acting as lead contact for Low Carbon Materials’ activity as a CLC Business Champion.
