Rebecca Kingston

Finalist of the CIHT Emerging Professional of the Year, Mayer Brown Ltd

Rebecca had a unique start to work during ‘lockdown’ allowing her to rapidly immerse herself in transport policy, strategy and guidance. Her role with consultants Mayer Brown means that she is constantly collaborating with broad stakeholder teams, on the planning and design of development and regeneration projects.

Sustainability has been a consistent theme throughout her recent education. Working in transport planning has quickly highlighted the gap between learned assumptions based on stated policy and the nuanced realities of achieving outcomes that will facilitate more accessible, inclusive, attractive places to live and pragmatically deliver on net zero commitments.

She was honoured to be the youngest person selected as a finalist this year for the CIHT Emerging Professional Award 2024 in recognition of her dedication and determination to pick up the baton and play a constructive role to help better align transport outcomes with the needs of current and future generations.
